Ancient Lime
Huang Mei Gui (“Yellow Rose“) is a rare Wuyi oolong tea with a floral aroma reminiscent of roses and orchids. The tea liquor is a warm amber color, offering a rich flavor profile with notes of roasted nuts, honey, and a hint of minerality, balanced by a smooth, lingering sweetness.

About the TEA
This Huang Mei Gui features a network of dark, intertwined leaves resembling thorny vines. The name “Huang Mei Gui” translates to ‘yellow rose,’ inspired by its yellowish hue and delicate rose fragrance. However, our testers noted a lime-like aroma when tasting it, and were particularly impressed that this tea is crafted from tea bushes over 500 years old, inspiring our name ‘Ancient Lime.’
Growing on the mineral-rich, rocky terrain of the Wuyi Mountains, this tea is a delicate rock tea. The infusion is a light yellow, similar to Taiwanese oolong. While Huang Mei Gui is typically semi-oxidized to become an aromatic oolong, this tea has been fully oxidized, preserving its characteristic rosy note while introducing the tartness of black cherry syrup and a subtle hint of cocoa on the nose.
It has a slight sweetness without being overly malty and is exceptionally smooth, making it an excellent choice for extended tea sessions or brewing in larger quantities. But be warned: its complex flavors can captivate the palate with a single sip, drawing the drinker back again and again.
